I see singing as much more than a performance related skill. For me studying singing has been a deep and personal journey though my inner self. I have been exposed to various singing methods and teachers and grew closer to methods aiming to bring awareness of the physical aspects of singing as well as exploring one’s unique sound. At the moment I am learning elements with Libero Canto and I hold a musicianship level 4 certificate in Kodály.
In lessons I will focus on breathing, movement, body awareness as well as musicianship, improvisation and exploration of various music styles. My lessons aim to be a mutual listening exchange.
As a singer I am passionate about using my voice in creative ways to discover new sounds and composing music using various scoring methods.
I am based in London. If you would like to schedule a lesson please get in touch. Online lessons also available

““The past two years were really fun and enlightening. I’m very grateful for the support and kindness that you brought to every single lesson we had. Those lessons also gave us time to feel more relaxed and helped cope with the pressures of being a teenager and succeeding academically. I’m gutted that I’m not a student at City anymore because I no longer have singing lessons. You teach so much more than singing (courage, sportsmanship, kindness etc)” T., A level student, The City Academy, London.”
““Working with Maddalena was really good fun and she helped me a great deal improving my confidence in singing. She is very positive, her energy is contagious and on top of that, she has an excellent knowledge of singing technique that she is able to convey to her students.” Beatriz, private student.”
““Maddie has been a singing teacher at The City Academy, Hackney for 5 years now and specialises in individual, paired and small group lessons. She is a valued member of the music department and has taught over 100 pupils. All pupils are consistently engaged in lessons and Maddie is very capable of bringing out the best in her pupils. She has high expectations of all pupils she teaches and regularly prepares pupils for recitals, exams and GCSE and A Level coursework. She is reliable, patient, talented and fun and is able to build fantastic relationships both with pupils and staff. I would highly recommend her as a teacher and colleague.” Liz Jones, head of music at The City Academy, London.”
“Maddie is a much-loved member of Mossbourne Victoria Park Music Department by pupils and teachers alike. Always willing to go the extra mile for her students, she has inspired countless young singers and supported them through GCSE performances, school production roles and more. Through a link to Maddie’s professional life, our pupils have also enjoyed singing alongside a professional choir (Camden Voices) themselves. She is a wonderful team player to have around! Lucy Baish, acting head of music at Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy, London.”
